Hi
I have a springer/collie aged 7...
Called Harvey
Who is tennis ball (any ball) MAD!!
We joined a flyball team about 10 months ago ... Leeds Owlers!
We have great fun as Harvey LOVES the sport and Owlers are such lovely people!
We have entered a starters competition last July which we started off well but unfortuantly Chewy decided he din't want to play game sooo Harvey, Tess, Poppy & Fin had a great day out but poor Chewy din't!
Then we started training harder with Tess to build up speed and confidence with dogs Harvey LIKED & TRUSTS!! Tess & Harvey love each other & are the sooo lovely towards each other!
Tess entered her first open-air competition in September in Selby but poor Harvs had a leg injury jumping on my trampoline oop =P but they bith started training again together to enter the November Comp in Doncaster - which Tess started off well but got scared by the end of the day & Harvey well lets just say he took a shine to a Little Cocker Spainel in warm ups && got put off by Lill Arch - so that was November
Finally an open-air competition were Harvey, Tess & Luke had had some training together but this wasn't just are team at Sheffield - we got Mia, Mable dogs who hadn't run in over 2 years & they did Fab & all the dogs apart Tess & Lill Arch took straight to them!!! Can't not forget our Lill anchor dog Lill Arch who can't train on a saturday & has been visiting his Ill grandparents! We would have come 3rd if Archie didn't drop his ball on the last leg! But oh well! After we ran in the morning - Harvey went for a little play with his ball & took a cut to the paw with an hour to racing again! He limped all the way from the car to the arena but as soon as we got in the ring he was FINE!!! So he set off racing but must have mit he didn't look very comfortable clearing the jumps and lost quite alot of time but my main aim was not to let the team down & that we did! Harvey did every run - i even pushed him aswell my changeovers were every close but he did sooo well in a different atmosphere to what he is use to!
Continuing training hoping to get some faster times in March at Carlton Towers & maybe get a go at doubles with Tess! Fingers Crossed
